The tulipfields around the Keukenhof

The tulip fields around Keukenhof are a breathtaking sight, transforming the Dutch countryside into a vibrant patchwork of colors each spring. Located in the Bollenstreek (Bulb Region) between Lisse, Noordwijk, and Haarlem, these vast fields are home to millions of tulips, hyacinths, and daffodils, creating an unforgettable floral landscape.

From mid-March to mid-May, the fields burst into bloom, with April being the best time to see the tulips at their peak. Unlike Keukenhof, which is a landscaped garden, these fields are working farms where flowers are grown primarily for bulb production rather than for picking.

Visitors can explore the fields by bike, car, or guided tours, following the famous Bloemen Route (Flower Route) for stunning views. Hot air balloon rides and boat tours through the bulb region also offer unique perspectives on this colorful Dutch tradition, making the tulip fields a must-see for nature lovers and photographers.
