Many Dutch travelers and international visitors love heading to the Alps, whether for summer hikes or winter ski trips. The stunning mountain landscapes, fresh air, and outdoor activities make it a top destination year-round.
When it comes to reaching the Alps, there are several transportation options. The most popular way is by car, offering flexibility and direct access to mountain villages and ski resorts. Traveling by train is another great option, often providing scenic routes through breathtaking landscapes. However, one downside is that you will likely need additional transport such as a bus or taxi from the train station to your final destination. Flying is the fastest option for long distances, but like train travel, it requires extra transfers from the airport to your resort or chalet.
Choosing the right travel method depends on your priorities Esther itās convenience, speed, or enjoying the journey itself.
My bus-train-bus-flight-bus and train trip
This year (just like last time) went mainly by flying. In order to reach the airport and from airport to my destination some additional travel movements were required.

We where flying from Eindhoven to Innsbruck so our first to goal was get to Eindhoven Airport. This meant that we had to take a bus to Utrecht Central Station and then take the train and a bus to get to the airport.

Everything went according to plan and there where no line for the border control. When arrived at Innsbruck the luggage was already waiting for us on the luggage belt.
From the airport we had to take a bis to Innsbruck central station.
At Innsbruck central station it was a couple minutes waiting for the train to north of italy

After aftrain rode of 1,5 hour we arrived at the valley.

Here we where pickles up to go up for a 1 houd ride to the destination.
All with all the trip was a: bus-train-bus-airplane-bus-train-car mix. But finalist there it payed of!
